Creative Black Women In History You Should Know
To celebrate Black History Month 2023, I created assets for an Instagram random selector filter prompting users to learn about underappreciated Black women historical figures on the @HelloSunshine handle, which has a following of about 1M. “Creative Black Women In History You Should Know” highlights six women—Alice Allison Dunnigan, Cicely Tyson, Harriet E. Wilson, Hazel Scott, Della Reese, and Dana Canedy—all who have made important contributions but who I knew nothing about at the start of this project.
Reese’s Book Club x Blue Buffalo
I had the honor of drawing a set of dogs for a Reese's Book Club x Blue Buffalo dog personality quiz. This was an early foray into drawing completely in Adobe Illustrator for me, as I've always preferred to draw by hand, but it was a fun experiment and learning opportunity!
The Bright Side Podcast
In my capacity as a graphic designer for Hello Sunshine, I had the honor of designing the cover art for its first podcast, The Bright Side. We wanted something bright and eye-catching—something that would cut through the noise of the podcast section and bring positivity and light to listeners’ days.
Reese’s Book Club Chats
A few weeks after a new Reese’s Book Club Pick is announced, the brand’s official handle puts up a post prompting the community to talk about the book together in something called a Reese’s Book Club Chat. These monthly comment section discussions put the “Book Club” in “Reese’s Book Club” and is a cute way for followers to connect with each other. I designed the logo, adding a fun flourish to the existing wordmark in a handwritten curly script.
